German colonization, starting from the 13th century, stimulated the growth of the Neighborhood, which grew to become an included town in 1243. Inside the 14th century the margraves of Moravia acquired and for extensive saved Charge of Brno, which, dominated by the castle around the Špilberk, withstood a number of sieges: in 1428 through the Hussit
